Omri sits at the base of a dramatic Camps Bay property, its dining room a vaulted tunnel opening onto the Atlantic. The architecture by Studio A / Tristan du Plessis is layered and material — curved banquettes, marble, carved timber, porthole mirrors. The brief was to bring the outside in: a mural that reads like a painting of the surrounding landscape — fynbos, milkwood, coastal scrub — translated into a continuous panorama.

The work is David’s original drawing, painted in blue-grey on cream plaster. The line is loose, gestural, confident — it follows the curve of the vault as if the ceiling itself were the paper. At its best it reads simultaneously as wallpaper, as fresco, as a painting you could walk into. The porthole mirrors catch fragments of it and return them from unexpected angles.
